Hyper Personalization

If you are running a small business like I am, you know that one-on-one experiences are the best way to foster a good relationship with your customers. Until recently, a personal experience online has required companies like mine to aggregate data from customers and then tailor a marketing strategy based on that information — an expensive prospect for small businesses.

But now, new technology is changing how we use the data we are gathering. Here are some of my ideas for how to create a more personalized online experience for my customers.

Use AI

Before you do anything else, utilize AI to analyze the data your company is gathering about your customers. With this information, you can segment your customers based on their interests and then tailor personalized messages for email or other social media platforms.

Customer Data Platform

Use a customer data platform (CDP) to help you organize your first-party data, including information your customers have provided to you. This will give you a well rounded idea of your customers behavior.

Predict the Future

Your new data sets can be used to estimate future customer interests and outcomes, based on their past actions. Predictive analytics can help you discover what your customers might do next, just by learning what they have done in the past.

Remember Timing

While content is important, so is timing. Your data gathering and AI analytics can help you understand what time of day or day of the week customers prefer to engage with your company.

Stay Flexible

The most important thing about implementing new data gathering realities utilizing AI – be willing to change your plan! The technology is evolving at an astonishing rate, your best bet is to change with it!
